Elgin Lanes Retools Lineup, Prepares to Challenge Bowlway

Elgin Lanes is making some major changes in its lineup this year. Three news players are being added to the squad to provide a greater balance of experience and versatility.

Elgin Lanes will feature one new left-hander, a player who bowls out of Elgin and Bowlway Lanes, and a former collegiate bowler. Returning from last year’s team in the Lead-Off position is John Mundt (215 average) and in the Set-Up position is Drew Perly (217 average).

Filling out the lineup is Daryl Rucki Jr. in the second position, who bowls at Bowlway Lanes league competition as well as Elgin Lanes and is averaging 213. Steve Mundt, brother to John and the first lefty for Elgin Lanes is bowling in the third position and averages 210. Dan Svehla is a former collegiate player and is bowling the Anchor position. He averages 213. Total average for the five man team is 1068.

“We’ve made a few changes this year. Our team should be exciting to watch,” said Elgin Lanes General Manager Lex Perly. “Dan and Drew bowled together in college, Steve and John are brothers that have been on the same team for years, and Daryl actually bowls at Bowlway and Elgin. That should give us an edge,” added Perly.
